----Your words...

"I am at a crossroad: Do I preach on my faith's traditional definition of marriage or do I conform to the modern evolution mandated through the courts? I'm pressed to choose between love for my faith and my love for my country -- a simple, but difficult choice."

I am not a part of your church. I am not a pastor. I am a Christian. I do not know the Word of God as you may know, however I DO know that you are commanded by God to teach the Word. YOU will have to face the Lord and explain to him come judgement day on why you chose to follow the way of man vs. His word. As you know, the Word says,

"Ezekiel 33:6-7 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’ "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me."

Please be a good Watchman. Prayer to our Lord Jesus will remind you that He and ONLY He died for our sins. Only Jesus can save us. Not man.

"Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham!' And he said, 'Here I am.' 2 And He said, 'Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you,'"(Gen. 22:1-2).

I know this decision can be difficult, however Abraham's faith in the Lord saved his son, and God's love for us saves our soul.

John 21:15-17 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep".

The Lord gave you that church. It was NOT something that you founded, created, and keeps the doors open.

God Bless you and keep you on the correct path. You and your congregation will be in my prayers.
